KONCRETE Tile Adhesive 300 is a highly polymer modified cement based tile adhesive with high strength, high quality, recommended to fix large size tiles/slab of granite, marble, stones. Its suitable for both internal and external thin bed application.

KONCRETE Tile Adhesive-300 is free from impurities and organic content. KONCRETE Tile Adhesive-300 is manufactured in a very stringent quality control environment and provides consistent quality with hassle free service.

This product has replaced the conventional method as it is ready to use by simple mixing with water at site and easily applying on the tiles surface. It not only gives better adhesion but also ensure the void less tiles fixing. Application of tile adhesive also ensure the time and money and also guarantees better quality tile work as compared to conventional method.

Area of Application

KONCRETE Tile Adhesive 300 is polymer modified thin bed adhesive designed for fixing of large size tiles/slab of granite, marble, stones in dry application on interior and exterior floor and walls. Its also being recommended to use tile on tile application. It is suitable for various cement and concrete based substrates.

Note

Allow a minimum of 24 hours for the subsequent usage of the areas where tilling has been done. Tiling work not suggested if ambient temperature is likely to drop below 5^oC or exceed 50^oC. For ambient temperature below 20^oC allow the adhesive to cure for an extended period of time. Pot life, open time and adjusting time depend on the surface absorption, wind factor, temperature and humidity conditions at site.

Method of Application

A)     Surface Preparation

         Prepare the surface and tiles/granite/stone before the application of tile adhesive by removing oil, bond inhibiting agents, dirt, dust and laitance.

         Clean the surface following suitable methods like by using wire brush, water jetting, mopping etc.

         Prior to the application of KONCRETE Tile Adhesive 300 surfaces should be leveled or repaired in case of higher undulation, KONCRETE Readymix Plaster is recommended over vertical surfaces to level it.

B)     Mixing

         KONCRETE Tiles Adhesive 300 requires 25% potable water by weight of material.

         Mix KONCRETE Tiles Adhesive 300 to measured quantity of water, while continuously stirring using a mechanical stirrer for 2-3 minutes to ensure a consistency free of lumps.

         Allow the mix to stand for 2-3 minutes to mature and then mix it again before use.

         Do not add any extra water to alter the mix consistency or to extend the pot life. Further water addition will hamper the adhesion strength of the tile adhesive.

C)     Application

         Apply the mixed of KONCRETE Tiles Adhesive 300 to the prepared levelled substrate using the appropriate notched trowel according to the size of the tiles being laid.

         Its recommended to use suitable spacers while fixing of tiles to ensure uniform tile fixing and creation of joints that can be filled with epoxy tile grout later on.

         A minimum of 6 mm bed thickness of tile adhesive for wall and floors must be achieved.

         Lay tiles onto the adhesive. Firmly press each tile and move it in perpendicular direction to the notches to ensure no air cavity remains in the mortar and good initial bonding is attained. Do not disturb the tiles until the adhesive has set.

         Its recommended to fix the tiles within 20-30 minutes of spreading KONCRETE Tiles Adhesive 300 to achieve adequate bonding and strength.

         Any tiles fixing after 20-30 minutes of spreading KONCRETE Tiles Adhesive 300 will lead to improper adhesion and may result in de-bonding of tiles.

         If the Tile adhesive is dried and skinned, then adhesive should be removed and replaced with a fresh adhesive.

         For vertical surface application, tilling should be start from bottom to top. 

         For tile-on-tile, tile-on-old cement floor application, care should be taken to prepare the existing base with adequate interlocking friction effect by removing polish/ wax/ top smooth layers.

Coverage

Approx 40-50* Sq.ft. per 20 Kg bag when applied by notch trowel at an average thickness of 6 mm.

* Coverage depends upon size of notch trowel, type and size of tiles and evenness and smoothness of substrate.

Packaging

20 Kg laminated HDPE bag.

Shelf Life

Product has shelf life of 6 months from the date of manufacturing. It should be stored in cool and dry place in unopened original packing.

Precautions

         Not suitable for tilling over flexible substrates, such as fibrous cement sheeting, plasterboard and timber.

         Not suitable for tilling directly onto timber, plywood or glass.

         Not suitable for tilling directly onto metal or plastic substrates.

         Not suitable for tilling directly onto polyurethane membranes.

         Not suitable for moisture sensitive tiles or substrates.

         Try to avoid application under direct sunlight.

Safety Directions

         KONCRETE Tile Adhesive 300 is non-toxic. Use of gloves and goggles recommended. Any splashes to the skin or eyes should be washed off with clean water immediately.

        In case of prolonged irritation, medical advice should be sought. KONCRETE Tile Adhesive 300 is non-flammable.
